The LG Wing 5G was announced just a few hours ago (14 September 2020) and has people feeling a bit weird about it’s swivel design but also quite curious about the whole “dual-screen” concepts. The LG Wing can be your ordinary candy bar design smartphone but with a quick swivel, can turn into an innovation statement with two punchy OLED screens. The new 6.8 inch LG smartphone still has a large battery of 4000mAh and 8GB of RAM with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor to keep it performing well while still looking sleek, slim and innovative.

Foldable smartphones come at a much higher cost than regular smartphones and this doesn’t leave much room for most smartphone buyers to look up-to-date or edgy in the smartphone industry. With smartphones becoming very similarly looking and extremely competitive, especially in the mid-ranged segment, its not as easy to be different. The LG Wing allows the company to show it’s risk and creativity in a year that has been challenging and to show its place in the smartphone industry. The new smartphone has a 64MP main shooter and offers gimbal like technology to enhance the experience of that second screen.

A few things to do with a swivel-like designed smartphone could be:

  • Gaming and multi-tasking
  • Texting and Youtube/Media watching
  • Camera handle-pod. (Gimbal like design)
  • Calling and GPS at the same time

The LG Wing 5G offers things that smartphone users might not think they wanted, until they get used to it. Pricing and availability in South Africa is not yet known but I am sure that the design is intriguing to those LG Fans wanting to take a leap of faith with this new, exciting and interesting piece of tech.
