The Vivo X50 series was launched in South Africa this month (September 2020) and although many South Africans may not know the Vivo brand to have flagship smartphones. The Vivo X50 and X50 Pro is known globally as a killer 48MP camera, the X50 Pro has the famous gimbal OIS (Optical image stabilisation). The X50 Pro is known to have a super capable camera that is much more stable than most smartphone cameras. These are also the first 5G smartphones from the Vivo line-up in South Africa. Both devices sport the same 32MP wide front facing camera that shoots video at 1080p @ 30fps.

The new phones both have a beautiful 6.56 inch AMOLED screen which will give you deep blacks and the designs are both Glass front, glass back and aluminum frame. Personally one of my favourite items of a phone is the frame, it screams premium when the build is solid and the Vivo X50 series is doing just that.
The Vivo X50 and X50 Pro both have a generous 8GB RAM which is more than than any other Vivo smartphone in South Africa, this means it should have great performance with anything you throw at it. Both phones sport the Qualcomm 765G Snapdragon processor to compliment the 8GBRAM and the Storage of the X50 is at 128GB and the X50 Pro has 256GB storage.
Available launch pricing for the Vivo X50 will be at R15,499 and the X50 Pro at R17,9999 at Vodacom and this deal includes the Vivo Neo Wireless Earphones Valued At R2299.

The highlight of the X50 series devices is showcasing the photographic gimbal technology. Let’s hope we get our hands on it too!
