If you’re into tech and really want to see if it’s not a phase, I think an AfricaCom conference would be a perfect first conference for you to attend. It’s free and easy to register for, okay sure you can’t be a delegate but you learn so much about where technology that we use on a daily actually comes from.

Firstly, for those who don’t know, Huawei has made a significant impact in the international market, and now more than ever has gained a high ranking in the cellphone industry. The AfricaCom 2016 Diamond Sponsor, Huawei, made sure that everyone was settled in at the conference and at the same time made the most of showcasing their best technologies to the world. Hosted in the proud Mother City, Cape Town, the conference allows for African telecommunication industries to share their innovations and how they have utilised technology in their cities.

Companies I met with in the mobile industry:
- ZTE
- Huawei Technologies
- Logicom Mobile Phones
Something I learned is that we really do not realise how much of the telecommunications industry is dominated by Asia. As South African’s we do not always realise the effort our leaders put in to keep our industries up to date with the latest technologies.
The AfricaCom is the ideal platform for any person to go out there and learn more about Africa’s rich technological footprint and future developmental plans. Meet new people and share ideas as press, business or just for your first conference experience. (Also, visitoregistration is FREE)
Also, I am currently working on upgrading my camera quality, for those who would like to know, these pictures were taken with a Huawei P7.
