Remember the infamous Sony Xperia Z series? Well say goodbye to the Xperia Z series since Sony released its latest flagship series, the Xperia X series. The Xperia Z5 was the last of the Z series, forcing the company to innovate its new flagship device. The Xperia X Performance moves away from the glass backing, showing us that Sony too can make a metal chassis (chassis means frame, for those who don’t know) that actually looks pretty premium too.sony-xperia-xa-aa-2-1280x720.jpg

With the well-known box shaped, rectangular design, the Xperia X comes in three variants; the Xperia X (middle-class) , Xperia XA (cheapest variant) and the flagship and highest spec of all, the Xperia X Performance. Following the same design language, they have made some changes. The Xperia X series all features a 2.5D glass display (Yes, conforming to most flagships out there with curved or rounded edges) and the Xperia X Performance is the only one that is waterproof. The Xperia X and Xperia XA will reach the shelves late Q1 of 2016 and the Xperia X Performance can be expected in Q2 unfortunately.

The Xperia X series all sport the same 5’inch display size and Android 6.0 Marshmallow but it seems that the difference is mostly under the hood. Let’s check the basics out, battery, storage and camera.
