Flagship devices are not the only devices that were launched at the MWC2016. Lenovo launched two mid-range smartphones, the Vibe K5 and the Vibe K5 Plus.
Both phones offer similar features such as the 13mp rear-camera and the front camera of 5mp although they differ in performance. The Vibe K5 and K5 Plus have the exact same metallic design, both have a screen display size of 5′ inches, Digital Dolby rear speakers and offer a good battery of 2750mAh. Running on Android 5.1 (Lollipop) with the refreshed look of Lenovo on top of it, using the mid-ranged device seems to be quite smooth, according to reviewers. The handsets seem appealing as mid-ranged devices, both variants come with 16GB internal memory, 2GB of RAM and has a microSD card slot. This offering for either around $129 (R2100) or $150 (R2500) is entirely dependent on your choice between the K5 or the K5 Plus (the more costly of the two). These handsets will be on sale in international markets.
The differences:
- The K5 has a Snapdragon 415 processor compared to the Snapdragon 616 K5 Plus.
- The K5 has a screen resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels (~294ppi pixel density) compared to the K5 Plus 1080 x 1920 pixels (~441 ppi pixel density)
In our opinion, we’d choose the K5 Plus, for an extra $30 (+-R500) you’ll be getting better, snappier performance and a better display, and with a great handset in the middle range of smartphones, it really is a good deal, especially since the handset offers a stylish aspect too.
