Over the past weekend, mobile leaders set the bar by the unveiling of Samsung and LG’s latest Flagship. On Sunday, 21 February 2016, the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the LG G5 was officially launched at the MWC 2016 Barcelona event. With a new modular design, the LG G5 has shown the company’s capabilities to innovate and refresh their look. The S7, unlike its predecessor the S6 allows for new terrains and adventures. Let’s take a look and see what mobile technology 2016 has in store for us.

With a new refreshed design, taking a step back from curved back designs and plastic, the LG G5 now has a full metal design. The LG G5 has introduced a new feature to mobile technology by making space for a removable battery, along with enough room for a number of “Friends” (At least that’s what LG calls its accessories).

• The LG G5 now has 4GB Ram, 32GB internal memory and a MicroSD CardSlot.
• A display of 5.3′ inches, Corning Gorilla Glass 4 + an ALWAYS ON screen.
• 16mp camera is found at the back of the G5 along with ANOTHER rear 8mp wide angle camera. The front camera is 8mp as well.
• The G5 allows for wireless charging and has a 2800Mah Battery.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 has taken the safer route, so says author of the Meeting Focus Blog. The new handset boasts a refined design of the Galaxy S6, with the curved edges not being as emphasised, the Galaxy S7 is still quite easy on the eyes, although moving away from the protruding rear-camera hump of the S6. Even though the camera is now 12mp and gone are the days of the 16mp camera on the S6, the S7’s lens should capture better angles and attract more accurate exposure and realistic light.

• The Samsung Galaxy S7 now has 4GB Ram, comes in a 32/64GB variant and returned with the microSD card lot.
• The 5.1’inch display is now IP68 certified – dust proof and water resistant  + an ALWAYS ON screen.
• A dual pixel 12mp camera, however the S7 promises lightning fast auto-focus capturing.
• The S7 allows for wireless charging and has a whopping 3000Mah battery.
